Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Opposition leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Monday started the consultation process for the name of caretaker prime minister. For this purpose, a meeting between the prime minister and the Opposition Leader was held at Parliament House. After the meeting, Shah told the media that he held a meeting with the prime minister and discussed the matter relating caretaker government before forthcoming general lections 2018.

I told the prime minister that I would talk to the opposition parties about the name of caretaker prime minister," he said. Answering a question, he said that the prime minister did not float any name for caretaker prime minister in the meeting.

Shah said that he would also seek names for caretaker prime minister from the opposition parties for discussion, adding he would discuss names with all opposition parties before submitting a name for the caretaker premier. He said that he would share some proposed names with the prime minister in next meeting after consultation with opposition parties.
